PLC Automation Control Device Artistic Application - Solar Panel Sunflower Control

The application of PLC control is widespread, ranging from industrial production operations to even public transportation, where PLCs are ubiquitous in control programs. Today, we'll share a rather unique case: an artistic example of a PLC automation control device.
Customer needs
The client wanted to plan a sunflower installation art piece made of solar panels outside their factory area. They hoped that the installation could be adjusted to face different angles as the sun's angle changes every hour, while also collecting solar energy and storing electricity.
Longzhong fulfills its needs
To meet the customer's needs, this device requires calculating the sun's altitude and azimuth angles. Lung Chung engineers planned to use a Siemens S7-1200 PLC for control, paired with a DC motor driver and a geared motor. Through logic program calculations and control, the device automates the adjustment of the solar panel angles, while simultaneously collecting data and connecting it to SCADA monitoring. Lung Chung designed a SCADA interface for the customer displaying information including: solar angle/altitude/azimuth angle, photovoltaic panel operating status, and daily production power. It also allows switching between manual and automatic modes for convenient monitoring and operation by factory management personnel.

After numerous precise calculations and revisions, Lung Chung engineers finally completed this ingenious and practical installation art project for the client! Whenever a system device requires PLC control, Lung Chung will do its best to help the client achieve it.
